APIJC will regularly post opportunities here to take action on issues affecting the API community.
APIJC has taken action on a wide range of issues including the following:
Voting Rights
- APIJC publicly denounced Congress candidate Tan Nguyen’s campaign letter that undermined immigrant voter rights.
Immigration Rights:
- Supported immigration rights resolution in relation to Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) in San Jose.
- Opposed citizenship fee increases.
API-focused Legislation:
- Petitioned for family based federal immigration legislation.
Race Relations:
- Requested protection of culturally proficient health services during the Santa Clara County Budget Hearings.
- Expressed dismay over racially offensive remarks published in AsianWeek.
Anti-Asian Awareness:
- Co-sponsored Vincent Chin 25th anniversary event to open dialogue on hate crimes and Asian American civil rights.
